HOME THEATER TECH SOLUTION:
- Tore down and rebuilt the fireplace so that we could mount the TV over it
- Installed our popular hidden speaker surround package.
- Equipment installed inside a closet outfitted with a custom cabinet and cooling system to allow doors to be left closed
- All in one remote allows one-touch operation for turning on the system even though the equipment is hidden inside a cabinet.
PROJECT CHALLENGE
Kevin was literally stuck on what he could accomplish in his modest home. As you can see from the pictures, he was forced to place his TV off to the corner where it forced everyone to watch TV uncomfortably on an angle with their heads tilted. And to make things worse the TV in the corner cuts down on room size and creates more clutter. Kevin initially called Home Theater Tech to install one of our popular hidden speaker surround systems, but I had told him that we didn’t intend it for corner positioned TVs. When I said that he replied,”Oh great! Does that mean that I have to have you install speakers that stick out of the wall now?”
At that point knowing that he wouldn’t like the answer that I was going to give him, I started looking around the room for a possible solution.
Looking at the fireplace I knew that it was the perfect spot for the TV to be in because it was in the center of the wall, but the builder built it much too high. If I installed it like that the TV would have been snug against the ceiling and the finished product would have looked horrible. To be able to solve the problem I offered to gut out his fireplace and rebuild it. Of course, his first response was that he wasn’t rich to pay for something like that and he also expressed concerns about whether it would look like the builder originally built it that way. Well as you can see from the picture it looks like it was originally built that way. And as for the price he was surprised at how much it came out too.
LESSONS
Do not necessarily rule out an idea out because you may think that it is too expensive,especially if it is the best solution for your room.
